Inns/Posadas in Chocó

Cabaña Brisas de Mar

Cabaña Jamintita Brisa del Mar is at the end of a quiet street overlooking the long beach of Jurubirá. It is the most secluded and quietest of the posadas in town, although you’ll still hear the sounds of the community over the lapping of the waves. The posada has great views of the ocean and receives a refreshing breeze, as its name suggests.

The posada itself is a sturdy two-floor structure with a flagstone floor and bamboo siding. The first floor has the shared bathroom and showers, as well as kitchen and dining area. The second floor has three bedrooms with ocean views. There are two additional private bedrooms attached to the side of the building.

A long wooden table dominates the posada’s dining room and is a pleasant place for a cup of coffee in the afternoon. The place is full of charming artwork and ornaments. The dueña, Jamine Cordoba Murilla, also sells traditional artisans handicrafts out of her home. You’ll find both Afro-Caribbean and indigenous style work at very competitive prices.

Three simple rooms with no private bathroom on the second floor. Each has a window with great views. Two additional rooms on ground floor. These are more private than the upstairs rooms.

Three meals are included in the price all served in the dining room on the first floor.
